Forest Lake – June 19th, 2021

Thanks to all of the volunteers and skiers who came out to make this a very special event. This was our first event at Forest Lake in Wright City and what a HUGE success it was! This event was designed to allow participants to “ski until their arms fell off” and that they did!

If you would like any ā€œhigh resolutionā€ copies of any of these pictures, send us an inquiry along with the image number(s) and we will get the photo(s) to you.

Friends of MDWSA – New Years Day polar ski

Thank you to all who came out on News Year’s Day and water skied and supported the “Friends of MDWSA”. This was our 36th annual event and we do it all to raise money for the Missouri Disabled Water Ski Association. THANK YOU!!. Eight people took to the water to ski: Alex Rosenbloom, Brian Engelhard, Dan Rosenbloom, Danny Liliensick, David Diederich, Kathleen Kras, Monty Webster and Neil Rosenbloom. $1,725 was raised this day! This will allow the club to purchase, much needed, adaptive water skis. Thank you to Channel 2 (Fox News) who came out to watch and broadcast the event in order to help raise awareness of MDWSA.

Learn to ski – Aug 6th and 7th, 2020

CANCELLED

Due to the areas of Wentzville and O’Fallon becoming COVID Hot Spots now, MDWSA has made the decision to cancel the August 6 – 7, and September 13 Adaptive Ski Clinics at Lake St. Louis, MO. We appreciate your willingness to help make these events possible, but unfortunately current circumstances are beyond our control. When we made the decision to proceed 6 weeks ago, we were hopeful the COVID situation would stabilize or improve. But that is not the case.

Please know that we care about you and value your continue support! As the cases for COVID increase in St. Charles County, and the cases in Wentzville and O’Fallon are currently very high (the two cities surrounding Lake St. Louis), we made this difficult decision in the best interest of your health. We hope that next summer we are past these immoderate circumstances and will see you back next year – for a healthy 2021!

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused as many of you took off work or school. We know you look forward to these adaptive ski events as do we.

On a positive note, we were able to test our new sign up software via our website that will help our efficiency and growth in the future. We are satisfied with the results to date as it is good event organization and quick contact and communication.

We hope you remain hopeful during these challenging times! We look forward to a healthy and successful 2021 season with plenty of skiing!

We will be back in 2021 stronger than ever

Beach Trax Access Mats

Thank you DONORS! With the funds you donated, in 2020 MDWSA was able to purchase Beach Trax Access Mats.Ā  These durable, lightweight, fold-able and easily transportable wheelchairĀ mats will allow for easier access across the sand and into the water.Ā  In the past, we have used plywood sheets which are heavy, result in a large gap between the sections and have to be dried out completely before we can store them .Ā  We would like to extend a huge THANK YOU! to Access Trax for including a story about MDWSA on their web site; we are very much looking forward to using your product at our events.Ā  Check out the article about us here and, for more information about Access Trax, click here.Ā  Ā
